Dr. Casey Siljestrom
Veterinarian
Dr. Casey Siljestrom is a Sarasota native with lifelong ties to Southgate Animal Hospital. Growing up, she attended Pine View School and brought her family dogs to Southgate for care. During her late high school years, Dr. Siljestrom faced a rare pediatric bone cancer diagnosis and underwent a year of chemotherapy and surgery. Her remarkable recovery strengthened her resilience and inspired her commitment to helping others through medicine.
She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Florida State University, where she also met and married her husband, before continuing her education at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with both a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a Master of Public Health. Since returning to Sarasota, Dr. Siljestrom has completed a postdoctoral degree in Small Animal Surgery and expanded her practice to include exotic pets and small livestock, such as poultry. She is passionate about serving her community by providing compassionate, high-quality care to animals of all shapes and sizes.
At home, she and her husband are raising three children alongside two dogs, a bearded dragon, and a tarantula. In her free time, Dr. Siljestrom enjoys gardening and crafting.

Dr. Ashley McNamee
Veterinarian
Dr. Ashley McNamee grew up near Detroit, but has lived in Sarasota for several decades. She went to veterinary school at the University of Florida, and studies acupuncture at the Chi institute. As her fiancée went to school to become doctor of Chinese medicine and acupuncture, she has witnessed first-hand the amazing effects that acupuncture and herbal medicine can have when used in conjunction with western medicine. She took additional coursework in school and enjoys rabbit and rodent medicine. She enjoys the diversity of general practice and especially love cytology, neurology, ophthalmology, and dentistry. She strives to be a partner with her clients in their pets’ wellness.
In her spare time, Dr. McNamee enjoys travel, Asian movies and TV, art and riding her Segway and kayaks around. Currently, she likes to paint throw pillows with puffy paints, but she is probably going to start making candles again soon.
